Tribe Culture Fest Chief Executive Officer Nana Boateng Gyimah has challenged Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, to provide evidence for allegedly failing to refund US$611,000 money received. The Sports Minister had accused Tribe Culture Fest for receiving a whooping amount of money and failing to refund to private individuals.

However, Gyimah has rejected the claims, insisting that neither he nor his organisation received the alleged amount from a private individual in relation to the arrangements in question. In a statement sighted by TW Sports on Monday, the Tribe Culture Fest boss clarified that his organisation’s contractual relationship was limited to the National Sports Authority (NSA) and the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA).

“For the record, Tribe Culture’s agreement was solely with the National Sports Authority and Ghana Tourism Authority. Tribe Culture Fest nor I received the alleged US$611,000 from any private individual in connection with the arrangements in question,” he said.

He said the minister must produce documents establishing any link between the festival and the disputed payment, arguing that the allegation should be backed by evidence rather than left unsubstantiated. Gyimah has specifically requested details of the transaction, including who made the payment, who received it, when it was made and the information used to determine the US$611,000 figure.

He warned that the allegations could have serious consequences for his reputation and the standing of Tribe Culture Fest, particularly if they continue circulating without credible evidence. The CEO has given Adams a clear choice: provide evidence to support the claims or withdraw them and publicly correct the record. “I call on the Minister to substantiate his allegations or withdraw them and correct the public record or have my lawyers to deal with,” Gyimah stated.
