Registrar of Companies to delist 318 companies over regulatory non-compliance

The Office of the Registrar of Companies (ORC) has announced plans to strike off 318 companies from Ghana’s official register of companies over regulatory non-compliance.

In a press release issued on May 19, 2026, and signed by the Registrar of Companies, Maame Samma Peprah, the ORC said the affected companies have been listed in Volume 40 of the Companies Bulletin dated May 15, 2026.

According to the Registrar, the action is being taken pursuant to Section 289(3) of the Companies Act, 2019 (Act 992).

The ORC stated that unless sufficient cause is shown within three months from the publication date, the listed companies will be removed from the register and subsequently dissolved.

“The names of the companies listed therein shall, unless cause is shown to the contrary, be struck off the register at the expiration of three months from the said date, and such companies shall thereupon stand dissolved,” the statement noted.

The Registrar explained that the exercise forms part of the office’s ongoing regulatory and compliance enforcement measures aimed at ensuring the accuracy, integrity and reliability of the Register of Companies.

The ORC further reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening corporate governance standards and promoting transparency within Ghana’s business environment.
