Ghana has a new Country Manager for the African Development Bank.
This was announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.
Mr Ablakwa said it was an honour to receive the open letters of Halima H. Hashi.
In welcoming her to Ghana on Wednesday, April 15, 2026; Mr Ablakwa expressed Ghana’s great respect and deep appreciation for the impact the African Development Bank has had on our development since opening its Ghana office in 1973.
He thanked the African Development Bank for supporting the government’s flagship projects including the Big Push, Feed Ghana, Eastern Corridor Road, AI initiatives and Irrigation interventions.
"Ghana proudly acknowledges the AfDB current investment portfolio of about US1.3billion active projects," he said.
He assured that President John Mahama will continue to offer his valuable guidance as the African Union Champion for African Financial Institutions as he remarkably pursues financial sovereignty and retention of African reserves on the continent to finance Africa’s infrastructure deficit.
"A warm Ghanaian welcome to our Tanzanian sister. I wish her a successful and transformative tenure," Mr Ablakwa wrote on X.
