Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly Supports Oguaa Traditional Council Ahead of Fetu Afahye

The Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly (CCMA) has donated chairs and dustbins to the Oguaa Traditional Council as part of efforts to support the Council ahead of the 2026 Oguaa Fetu Afahye celebrations. Speaking to the media during the presentation at the Emintsimadze Palace, the Metropolitan Chief Executive, Hon. George Justice Arthur, said the decision to provide the chairs was largely motivated by his recent visit to the Palace.

According to him, the visit brought to his attention the need for additional seating arrangements, particularly at a time when the Traditional Council was preparing to receive increased numbers of visitors as part of the Fetu Afahye celebrations.

He explained that the Assembly considered it necessary to support the Oguaa Traditional Council, especially during the festive season, when the Palace receives chiefs, dignitaries, residents and visitors from different parts of the country and beyond.

Hon. George Justice Arthur said the gesture reflected the Assembly’s commitment to working closely with the traditional authorities to promote the cultural heritage of Oguaa and contribute to a successful Fetu Afahye celebration. The dustbins are also expected to support sanitation efforts at the Palace and surrounding areas as activity increases across the city during the festival.

Receiving the items on behalf of the Oguaa Traditional Council, Osabarimba expressed gratitude to the Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly for the donation and its continued support to the Traditional Council. He said the items would be useful in improving facilities and maintaining a conducive environment at the Palace, particularly during the festive period when the Council welcomes a large number of visitors.
