VFS Global has reiterated its commitment to applicant protection and transparency in Ghana, warning residents against fraudulent agents who falsely promise early appointments or guaranteed visa outcomes in exchange for payment.

The company's advisory comes as visa application volumes continue to rise across several markets, particularly around peak travel periods for students, families, organised groups, corporate travellers, sports teams, and delegations. VFS Global is encouraging applicants to plan early, rely only on official information, and avoid third parties claiming to influence appointments or visa decisions.

"Trust is central to the visa application experience," said Prashant Kansara, Regional Head for Central & West Africa at VFS Global. He said the company's role is to provide a secure and well-managed administrative process on behalf of client governments, and urged residents in Ghana to use only official VFS Global channels and avoid intermediaries who make false promises.

As part of its anti-fraud safeguards in Ghana, VFS Global has implemented measures including appointment verification, OTP-based appointment booking, validation of application references, anti-fraud messaging, and controlled entry into Visa Application Centres for applicants with valid appointments. The company noted that no agent, employee, or third party can guarantee an earlier appointment, faster processing, or a positive visa decision, and urged applicants to verify information only through its official website and report suspicious activity through official channels.

Alongside its anti-fraud efforts, VFS Global says it has seen growing interest in organised visa submission support for groups, particularly among students, education consultants, corporate teams, sports delegations, families, and large travel groups. The group booking service helps applicants coordinate submissions in a more structured manner during peak periods such as student mobility seasons, major sporting or cultural events, and corporate or family travel. The company stressed that the service supports coordination only and does not influence visa outcomes, appointment availability, or processing timelines, which remain under the authority of the respective governments.

The Office of the Paramount Chief of Gbese, the Adonten of the Ga State, commended VFS Global for its handling of the group's visa applications for the first-ever Gbese Mantse Homowo Festival and Business Summit held in the Netherlands in September 2025. In a testimonial, His Royal Majesty Nii Ayi-Bonte I, Paramount Chief of Gbese, praised the professionalism shown towards the delegation's application process, noting that collecting the group's applications directly from the chief's office was a first for many of the chiefs and queens involved despite extensive international travel experience.

VFS Global also offers optional services, approved by client governments, such as assisted form-filling, courier return of passports, SMS notifications, Premium Lounge access, and mobile submission support like "Visa At Your Doorstep." The company said these services are optional and transparently priced, with no bearing on visa outcomes or processing times, and maintained that it operates a zero-tolerance approach to coercion, misrepresentation, fraud, or unethical conduct.

VFS Global has operated in Ghana since 2005 and currently services 19 client governments through a network of 23 Application Centres, staffed by around 100 Ghanaian nationals.
