Murder of man, shooting of his wife at Tuba: 2 brothers arrested, third suspect on the run

The Accra Regional Police Command has arrested two brothers in connection with the murder of a 54-year-old man and the shooting of his wife at Beach Drive Estate, Tuba, near Weija.

The suspects, Adams Adder Almeida and his brother, Bala Bilyon, were arrested with assistance from the Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team (CVET).

Police said the incident occurred on August 6, 2026, when they received information that a man and his wife had been shot at their four-bedroom apartment at Beach Drive Estate.

The victims, Mohammed Rahman, 54, and his wife, Christiana Fosu, 53, were found with gunshot wounds outside the apartment.

They were taken to Finney Hospital in Weija, where Rahman was pronounced dead on arrival. His wife was referred to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, where she remains on admission, responding to treatment.

The body of the deceased has been deposited at the Police Hospital Mortuary pending autopsy.

Confession during interrogation

According to police, Adams Adder Almeida allegedly admitted during interrogation to shooting Rahman and his wife.

Police said the suspect claimed he was motivated by his perception that the deceased had repeatedly described him as "lazy and useless," which he said had affected him mentally.

The suspect subsequently led investigators to his brother's room at Beach Drive Estate, where a pistol believed to have been used in the shooting was retrieved.

The weapon was allegedly concealed beneath the wall drop of his brother, Bala Bilyon, who works with the deceased.

Investigations also established that the two brothers reside together in the same room at Tuba.

Third person of interest missing

Police said Adams further told investigators that the pistol had allegedly been given to him by a friend identified as Gideon.

He led investigators to Gideon's residence at Tuba, but Gideon was not found there.

Police said efforts are ongoing to locate him to assist with investigations.

Bala Bilyon has also been arrested and is assisting the police with investigations.
