Ghana national football team supporters across the country will be able to follow every moment of the 2026 FIFA World Cup live after the government successfully acquired television broadcast rights for the tournament with support from an ongoing fundraising drive.

The confirmation was made by Kofi Adams during an event held to announce a significant financial contribution towards the Black Stars’ World Cup preparations.

At the ceremony, GCB Bank donated GH¢5 million to the national team’s fundraising campaign, reinforcing private sector support for Ghana’s participation at the global competition.

According to the Sports and Recreation Minister, the combined efforts of government institutions and corporate partners have played a major role in ensuring that Ghanaian fans will have access to live coverage of the tournament.

“Through the support of government and fundraising efforts, we have been able to secure broadcast rights to telecast the World Cup matches live on some of the media stations,” Kofi Adams said.

The fundraising initiative was introduced to help generate financial backing for the Black Stars ahead of the expanded World Cup tournament, which will be hosted in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Beyond preparing the team competitively, authorities are also aiming to build nationwide excitement and unity as Ghana prepares for another appearance on football’s biggest stage.

With anticipation steadily building ahead of the tournament, the latest development is expected to bring relief and excitement to football fans eager to support the Black Stars throughout the competition.
