Veteran Ghanaian hiplife artiste Nana Kwaku Okyere Duah, popularly known as TIC TAC, has dismissed retirement rumours, insisting he remains active in the music industry and is in high spirits. The Menka Bio hitmaker made the declaration during an interview on TW Entertainment today, hosted by MC Real Pee, where he spoke candidly about his life and career.
"I haven't retired from music; I'm enjoying my life," he told host MC Real Pee, putting to rest speculation that he had stepped away from the industry.
TIC TAC, who rebranded simply as TiC in recent years, is one of the most decorated figures in Ghana's music history. He holds eleven Ghana Music Awards, including the coveted Musician of the Year honour in 2004, and was the first Ghanaian artiste to top the MTV Base Africa chart, a feat he achieved in May 2007 with his hit single Kangaroo.
His career boasts collaborations with international heavyweights including Kuami Eugene, KiDi, D'banj, JJC, and Sway DaSafo, and he has shared stages with global acts such as 50 Cent, Buju Banton, and Lloyd Banks. He also co-wrote Gbese, recorded by Afrobeats superstar Wizkid.
Beyond music, TIC TAC has diversified into business, running TNR Music, the TIC Reserved Lounge/Night Club, and Gennex Pizza Restaurant, and serving as a board member of the Ghana Music Rights Organisation (GMRO).
