Global Mercy Returns to Ghana After 30 Years, Bringing Hope Through Free Medical Care

The Global Mercy hospital ship has returned to Ghana after three decades, docking at the Tema Port to deliver life-changing healthcare services to thousands of Ghanaians over the next ten months.

Operated by the international charity Mercy Ships, the vessel is expected to provide up to 2,600 free surgeries and 2,145 dental treatments to patients from across the country. The mission aims to support individuals suffering from treatable medical conditions who may otherwise be unable to access specialized healthcare services.

The return of the world's largest purpose-built civilian hospital ship marks a significant milestone in Ghana's healthcare journey.
