The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has officially announced Thursday, August 20, 2026, as the date for its 32nd Ordinary Congress, as the football governing body prepares to bring together key stakeholders to deliberate on the development and future direction of the sport in the country.

The annual statutory meeting, which is being organised in accordance with Article 31(2) of the GFA Statutes, will be held at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram.

The Congress remains one of the most important events on the GFA’s calendar, providing a platform for members of the Association to review the past football season, assess ongoing programmes and make decisions that could shape the future of the game.

Discussions at this year’s gathering are expected to cover a broad range of issues, including competitions, football development, governance, administration and strategic plans for the coming season.

Members of the Association have been formally notified of the date to allow delegates sufficient time to prepare for the meeting. In line with the GFA’s statutes, a formal convocation will also be circulated ahead of the Congress.

The document is expected to contain the agenda for the meeting, activity reports, financial statements and the auditors’ report, giving delegates an opportunity to scrutinise the Association’s activities and financial performance.

The full-day meeting will also bring together club representatives, technical officials and other stakeholders, creating an avenue for meaningful engagement on issues affecting football at various levels.

Beyond the formal business of the Congress, the gathering is expected to provide an opportunity for the GFA’s leadership to engage directly with members on the progress of ongoing initiatives while identifying areas that require further attention.

With Ghanaian football continuing to navigate both opportunities and challenges, the 32nd Ordinary Congress will be closely watched for the decisions and discussions that emerge from Prampram.

The GFA has urged all delegates to prepare adequately ahead of the meeting, with the Association stressing the importance of productive engagement as it seeks to strengthen football administration and development across the country.

The Congress therefore represents an important moment for Ghana football, as stakeholders come together to reflect, deliberate and set the course for the next phase of the sport’s development.
