The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced special tributes in honour of the late Dominic Frimpong during this weekend’s domestic competitions.
Frimpong, who played for Berekum Chelsea on loan from Aduana FC, will be remembered across matches involving six clubs competing in the MTN FA Cup semi-finals and the Women’s Premier League final. In a statement, the GFA confirmed that all players and team officials will wear black armbands as a mark of respect during their respective matches.
A minute of silence will also be observed before kickoff in each game to honour the memory of the 20-year-old. The Association has called on clubs, officials and supporters to fully cooperate in observing the tributes in a respectful manner.
The gesture forms part of efforts by the football community to mourn Frimpong, whose death has deeply affected Ghana football. The GFA also expressed appreciation to all stakeholders for their understanding and support as the nation pays tribute to the young player.
