CCMA Calls for Public Participation in Upcoming Clean-Up Exercise

The Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly has announced a General Clean-Up Exercise scheduled for Friday, July 10 and Saturday, July 11, 2026, as part of efforts to promote environmental cleanliness and proper sanitation across the metropolis.
In a notice signed by the Metropolitan Coordinating Director on behalf of the Metropolitan Chief Executive, the Assembly stated that the exercise will take place from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. each day.
Friday, July 10, 2026 has been designated for security agencies, government institutions and agencies, private sector companies, organizations, schools, banks, markets, lorry terminals, and other organized groups to clean their surroundings and desilt drains within their respective catchment areas.
Saturday, July 11, 2026 will involve shops, households, and the general public. During this period, all shops are expected to remain closed, while commercial vehicles will not be allowed to operate within the metropolis from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
The Assembly has indicated that waste collection trucks will be deployed to collect and evacuate waste and debris generated during the exercise. Residents, businesses, and institutions within the Cape Coast Metropolis have been urged to fully participate to ensure the success of the sanitation exercise.
