Cape Coast's 24-Hour Economy Market Must Be Strategically Positioned to Succeed - Mr. Ebenezer Domey

The Coordinator of the Member of Parliament's Office for the Cape Coast North Constituency, Mr. Ebenezer Domey, has raised concerns about the long-term sustainability of the proposed 24-hour economy market, calling on authorities to adopt a more deliberate and strategic approach to its implementation.
Speaking in an interview with Sir Roy on TW Radio 88.9's morning show, The Workshop, Mr. Domey questioned whether the new market model would be viable for businesses over the long term, warning that good intentions alone would not be enough to guarantee success.
"In an environment where traders and consumers have multiple alternatives, careful planning and positioning are essential to ensure the market attracts consistent patronage," he said. "Without a well-thought-out strategy, the initiative could struggle to meet its intended objectives."
Mr. Domey further observed that institutions across various sectors are increasingly blending their core operations with commercialisation, making it necessary for public projects like the 24-hour market to align with evolving business trends and prevailing economic realities.
He emphasised that for the market to succeed, its design must respond to competition, support the businesses it hosts, and create real, measurable value for all stakeholders involved.
