First Lady Lordina Dramani Mahama has announced that the government, under the leadership of her husband, President John Dramani Mahama, will soon launch a Free Primary Health Care Programme, aimed at providing free health services at facilities such as the newly renovated Anyima Health Centre.
Speaking at the commissioning of the upgraded health facility in the Kintampo South District, the First Lady emphasized that the programme is expected to deliver significant benefits to communities. Among the anticipated outcomes are increased utilization of health care services, early detection of diseases, reduced health expenditure for families, and a healthier, more productive nation.
The Anyima Health Centre renovation, undertaken by the Lordina Foundation following advocacy by Anyima Queenmother Nana Saa Gyamfuaa II, will now cater to more than 3,000 residents in Anyima and surrounding areas. The facility has been equipped to expand maternal, emergency, and outpatient services, ensuring improved access to quality health care for the local population.
Mrs. Mahama expressed her commitment to supporting health initiatives that directly impact the well-being of Ghanaians, noting that the Free Primary Health Care Programme reflects the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen community health systems and reduce financial barriers to care.
