“I’m honored that my art will represent a piece of Africa at one of the world’s biggest music events. This is a win not just for me but for every young African creative daring to dream globally,” Boateng shared.

The licensed works will be used across multiple platforms  including promotional materials, digital animations, and stage projections  as part of the visual narrative for the Grammys’ ongoing celebration of global artistry.

A representative from YouTube’s creative partnerships division praised Boateng’s visionary style, describing his art as “energetic, authentic, and deeply rooted in culture,” adding that it perfectly aligns with the Grammy brand’s mission to showcase diversity and creative excellence

Boateng, known for his signature use of Afrofuturist and narrative-driven art, has gained international recognition through digital exhibitions, NFT projects, and creative collaborations with brands and cultural institutions. His work often explores themes of identity, heritage, and belonging, using color and symbolism to reimagine African identity in a modern global context.

The partnership has been hailed by members of Ghana’s creative community as a historic breakthrough  not only for Derrick Boateng but also for West Africa’s fast-rising visual arts scene.

“This achievement proves that Ghanaian art has a place on the global stage,” said one industry commentator. “Our stories and visuals are being seen, valued, and celebrated.”

The 2026 Grammy Awards are scheduled to take place in Los Angeles, with YouTube serving once again as the digital streaming and content partner. Derrick Boateng’s contribution adds a distinctly African creative voice to the global celebration of music and artistry.
