President Mahama Hosts Terrance Michael Drew for Official Visit to Ghana

President John Dramani Mahama on Tuesday welcomed the Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, Dr. Terrance Michael Drew, to Ghana for an official visit aimed at strengthening diplomatic and economic relations between the two countries.


The two leaders held bilateral talks focused on expanding cooperation in key areas including trade, investment, tourism, education, and climate resilience. Discussions also explored opportunities for private sector collaboration and enhanced people-to-people exchanges.


President Mahama restated Ghana’s commitment to deepening partnerships between Africa and the Caribbean, emphasizing the importance of shared history, cultural connections, and collective efforts toward sustainable development. He noted that stronger South–South cooperation remains critical in addressing common challenges and unlocking new economic opportunities for both regions.


Prime Minister Drew expressed appreciation for the warm reception and highlighted the longstanding historical and cultural bonds linking Ghana and St. Kitts and Nevis. He underscored his country’s readiness to strengthen collaboration and pursue mutually beneficial initiatives with Ghana.


The visit forms part of broader efforts to advance Africa–Caribbean relations built on mutual respect, solidarity, and a shared vision for prosperity. Officials from both sides indicated that the discussions are expected to pave the way for deeper institutional cooperation and increased engagement between government agencies and the private sectors of the two countries.
