Police Officer Killed in Robbery Attack in Zebilla

The Ghana Police Service has confirmed the death of one of its officers following a robbery incident on Sunday, February 8, 2026, near Zebilla.

According to preliminary investigations, two police officers travelling towards Zebilla encountered the robbery in progress when the suspects opened fire, striking one of the officers.

The injured officer was rushed to the Bolgatanga Regional Hospital by a responding police team after a distress call. Sadly, he was pronounced dead on arrival. His body has since been deposited at the hospital mortuary pending autopsy.

The Police Service has launched a special operation to identify and apprehend all individuals involved, assuring the public that they will face the full rigours of the law.
