Medeama SC Coach Ibrahim Tanko has called on the club's supporters to maintain their backing of the team as the Tarkwa-based side pursue another Ghana Premier League title.

Tanko believes the fans remain an important part of the club's success and wants them to continue turning up for matches despite some disappointing results this season. Medeama are currently top of the league standings with 18 points from nine matches, level on points with FC Samartex, as they seek to defend their title.

The coach acknowledged that the team have experienced some difficult moments but insisted their overall performance deserves continued support from the supporters. "I always said they are our backbone. I mean, they have supported us in good and bad times, and I hope that they will come because we are still in first position," he said.

"We are still on course to defend our title. So I hope that they will keep supporting us," Tanko added. He also acknowledged that some of the team's performances have fallen short of expectations but urged supporters not to lose faith in the players.

"The players are aware that some of the games didn't go well, but I think, overall, we did very well. So they should come and support the team," he said. Medeama will next welcome Swedru All Blacks to the TNA Stadium on Sunday, November 8, hoping to secure another home victory. The Mauve and Yellow have won all their league matches at the revamped venue this season and will be eager to extend that record as they continue their title defence.
