Universal Merchant Bank (UMB) has been confirmed as the headline sponsor of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) U19 Premier League, in a partnership aimed at strengthening the development pathway for young Ghanaian footballers.
The partnership is expected to support the growth of emerging talent by providing a structured platform through which young players can gain competitive experience and progress towards senior football. The GFA U19 Premier League has been established to give players regular competitive football while creating opportunities for promising talents to transition into the senior game.
The inaugural UMB U19 Premier League will be launched as a pilot competition in the Greater Accra Region. According to the GFA, the pilot edition will provide valuable experience and lessons that will inform the gradual expansion of the competition to other regions, with the long-term objective of establishing the U19 Premier League nationwide.
The Football Association welcomed UMB as the headline sponsor and expressed confidence in a successful partnership focused on developing the next generation of Ghanaian football stars. The announcement was contained in a statement issued by GFA Communications.
