Fante Fest London 2026 to Celebrate Fante Heritage, Culture and Community

The Fante community in the United Kingdom is set to celebrate its rich cultural heritage at Fante Fest London 2026, scheduled for Saturday, September 26, 2026, in London.

The event, themed “The Ahobaa Kese Festival – UK Edition,” will take place from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Gladesmore Community School, Ferndale Road, London, N15 6UX.

Organised as a celebration of Fante identity and heritage, the festival will bring together traditional leaders, community members, professionals, young people and friends of Ghana for an afternoon of traditional culture, music, dance, youth empowerment, business and networking, Ghanaian cuisine and a heritage showcase.

The programme is being held under the distinguished patronage of HM Daasebre Kwebu Ewusi VII, Omanhene of Abedzie State and Board Chairman of The Fante Project, alongside HM Odoefuo Amoakwa Buadu VIII, President of the Central Regional House of Chiefs and Paramount Chief of Breman Asikuma Traditional Area.

The festival will also feature prominent traditional leaders, including Osabarima Kwesi Atta II, Omanhene of Oguaa Traditional Area; HM Odoefuo Kwebu Ewusi VII of Abedzie Traditional Area; and Emintsiminim Otu XI, Omanhene of Abura Traditional Area.

The Special Guest of Honour is H.E. Zita Sarah Benson, Ghana’s High Commissioner to the UK and Northern Ireland. Other notable personalities featured on the event programme include Prof. Nana Ama Browne Klutse, CEO of the Environmental Protection Agency, and Hon. Ekow Panyin Okyere Baidonoah, Central Regional Minister.

Beyond entertainment, Fante Fest London 2026 is expected to provide a platform for cultural preservation and community engagement, particularly among younger generations living in the diaspora.

With its combination of traditional leadership, cultural performances, Ghanaian cuisine, networking and youth-focused activities, the festival seeks to showcase the richness of Fante heritage while strengthening connections between the Ghanaian community in the UK and communities back home.
