Ghana’s Erica Sedzro has completed her outings in two cycling events at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, but was unable to progress beyond the qualifying stages. Sedzro first took to the track in the women’s sprint qualifying, where she clocked 17.212 seconds. She finished 22nd overall, outside the qualification places for the next round.
She later returned for the women’s 4000m individual pursuit, switching from the explosive speed of the sprint to a demanding endurance race. Sedzro completed the distance in 7:15.853, placing 17th overall, which again left her outside the qualification positions.
While progression proved difficult in both events, Sedzro’s two appearances gave Ghana representation in different areas of the track cycling programme at Glasgow 2026. Her campaign may have ended at the qualifying stage, but the experience provides another opportunity to assess Ghana’s position in competitive cycling and the work required to close the gap at major international competitions.
