The Controlled Food Suppliers Association (CFSA) has announced plans to embark on a five-day demonstration at the premises of the Ghana Commodity Exchange (GCX) in Accra over unpaid debts owed to its members for food supplies made under the Free Senior High School (Free SHS) programme in 2024.

In a press statement dated November 3, 2026, the association said the demonstration would take place from November 16 to 20, 2026, at the GCX premises on Tumu Avenue, Kanda, Accra.

The association explained that the demonstration is intended to demand the immediate settlement of outstanding payments owed to its members for food items supplied to senior high schools under the Free SHS programme.

According to the CFSA, several attempts to resolve the matter through amicable means have proven unsuccessful, leaving members with no option but to resort to public demonstration to press home their demands.

The association further disclosed that demonstrators would maintain an overnight presence at the premises of the Ghana Commodity Exchange throughout the five-day protest to draw attention to the prolonged non-payment and the financial difficulties members continue to face, particularly in meeting their obligations to creditors.

Speaking to TW Radio on the planned demonstration, the Secretary of the Controlled Food Suppliers Association reiterated the association’s concerns over the outstanding debts and the need for authorities to urgently address the situation.

The association says it remains committed to securing payment for its members and is calling for immediate intervention to ensure that the outstanding obligations are settled.

The CFSA has also appealed to the media to support its demonstration with coverage, urging journalists to be present at the GCX premises during the five-day protest.
