The Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association, Henry Asante Twum, says the mood in the Black Stars camp remains highly competitive as the team prepares to face South Korea in their final November friendly.
Nineteen players are currently in camp for Tuesday’s match at the Seoul World Cup Stadium. The squad has been trimmed by injuries to Francis Abu, Mohammed Salisu and Antoine Semenyo, who have all been ruled out. Abu is recovering from a broken ankle, while Salisu and Semenyo picked up knocks.
Despite the setback of last Friday’s 2-0 defeat to Japan in the Kirin Cup, Asante Twum maintains that the team’s spirit is intact. He noted that every player understands what is at stake and is determined to seize the moment. "Aside from the national interest, there is also a personal interest. With the players who are currently in camp, they know that they don't have to take this opportunity for granted," he told Asempa FM.
"Of course, not all of the. Will make it to the World Cup, so this is the time for them to showcase what they can do. It's always a great privilege to represent your country, and at the moment, we look light in terms of numbers, but every player has taken the game seriously and is ready to showcase what they can do," he added. Kick-off is at 11 a.m. as Ghana continues its build-up to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
