Police Ladies made history on Sunday, defeating reigning champions Ampem Darkoa Ladies 2-0 at the to win their first Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League title at the University of Ghana Stadium. Played under a steady downpour, the highly anticipated clash saw both teams pushing for a triumphant end to their impressive seasons. 


Police Ladies took control early, with Jane Ayieyam opening the scoring in the 27th minute following a dominant first-half display. As the clock ticked down, Victoria Teye Williams sealed the victory with a late strike in the 89th minute, sparking celebrations and capping off a landmark evening for Police Ladies.


The win ends Ampem Darkoa’s reign at the top and rewrites the recent history between the two clubs. 
Notably, Ampem Darkoa had beaten Police Ladies 2-0 in the 2017 Super Cup, but this time, the outcome was reversed in emphatic fashion.


Police Ladies' triumph on May 18, 2025, not only delivers a historic league title but also secures them a coveted spot in the CAF Women’s Champions League next season—rewarding their season-long resilience and commitment.
