Former New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for Klottey Korle, Valentino Nii Noi Nortey, has been arrested in the United States after allegedly stabbing his wife during a domestic incident over the weekend, authorities have confirmed.
According to the Lower Paxton Township Police, the incident occurred at about 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2026, along Mayfair Drive in Lower Paxton Township, Pennsylvania. A report by abc27.com indicated that the stabbing stemmed from a domestic dispute.
Police confirmed on Monday that the victim was transported to a hospital by first responders and is currently in stable condition, adding that there was no threat to the general public.
Mr. Nortey, 41, a resident of Harrisburg, has been charged with attempted homicide, possession of an instrument of crime with intent to use, and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence, according to police.
Online court records show that he was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge David Judy, who denied him bail. He is currently being held at the Dauphin County Prison, pending a preliminary hearing scheduled for January 26, 2026.
Authorities say investigations into the incident are ongoing, while further details remain limited at this time
