President of the Republic of Ghana and African Union Champion for African Financial Institutions, John Dramani Mahama, has arrived in Nairobi to participate in the Africa Forward Summit, a high-level France-Africa partnership meeting.
The Summit, hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron, has brought together African Heads of State, global business leaders, and international partners to strengthen collaboration on sustainable development and economic resilience.
President Mahama is expected to participate in a high-level discussion on Green Industrialisation and Energy Transition on Tuesday, aimed at advancing Africa’s industrial growth while addressing the global climate crisis.
In his capacity as AU Champion for African Financial Institutions, President Mahama will also participate in a working lunch on the Reform of the International Financial Architecture, with discussions focusing on improving Africa’s access to sustainable financing and promoting a more equitable global financial system.
As part of his engagements, President Mahama, who is spearheading the Accra Reset Initiative, will co-chair a roundtable discussion on health under the theme: “Rethinking Global Health and Building Resilient National Health Systems.”
On the sidelines of the Summit, he is scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with António Guterres, Kristalina Georgieva, and Alvaro Lario to discuss global cooperation, economic stability, and food security in Ghana and across Africa.
President Mahama is expected to return to Accra on Tuesday evening.
