The Executive Director of the National Commission on Culture (NCC), Mr. Wakefield Wisdom Ackuaku, has reaffirmed the Commission's support for the Pan African Historical Theatre Festival (PANAFEST) 2025.

This commitment was made during a working visit to the Cape Coast Centre for National Culture (CNC), where Mr. Ackuaku met with Rabbi Kohain Nathanyah Halevi, Executive Director of the PANAFEST Foundation.

The meeting aimed to strengthen institutional collaboration and cultural revitalization, building on the foundational role NCC played in creating PANAFEST.

Mr. Ackuaku expressed concern over the Commission's diminishing role in the PANAFEST process, particularly its exclusion from the National Planning Committee. Rabbi Kohain acknowledged the oversight, and affirmed the PANAFEST Foundation's deep appreciation for NCC's contributions.

 PANAFEST 2025 Program |  Dates: July 18 to August 2, 2025 |  Key Events:

  • Northern Pilgrimage Tour: July 18-22
  • Wreath Laying Ceremony and Creative Explosion: July 23 in Accra
  • Central Region Programs: July 25-August 2, including PANAFEST Village and Expo at CNC Cape Coast

The NCC and PANAFEST Foundation have agreed to work together to enhance the impact of the festival and restore NCC's rightful place within the PANAFEST framework. This renewed collaboration underscores the importance of African spirituality in national cultural programs, with a focus on healing and interfaith dialogue.

The Commission's support for PANAFEST 2025 aligns with its vision for embedding spiritual and healing programs across all NCC centers nationwide, catering to the profound needs of diasporans seeking to heal from intergenerational trauma.
