A former constituency organiser of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai has advised President John Mahama, not to repeat previous mistakes made during his first administration. According to Dr Alhaji Ben Ali Seaman, repeating such mistakes would be tantamount to total failure and disappointment for Ghanaians.

Alhaji Seaman mentioned erratic power supply, unemployment, and poor management of the economy as some of the issues that did not go well in President Mahama’s previous administration.

He continued that Ghanaians were eager and yearning for the full implementation of the 24-hour Economy, Women’s Bank, Free Tertiary Education, Free admission for level 100 tertiary students and Free SHS to all private schools.

These were contained in a Press statement issued at Anhwiaso. He indicated that Ghanaians were waiting for the scrapping of the betting tax, E -Levy, and COVID tax as well as the stabilisation of the Cedi to Dollar exchange rate and fuel prices. He warned that individuals who would be favoured to serve in Mahama’s government should not be arrogant, self-centred, and disrespectful leaders.

Alhaji Seaman expressed concern about the NPP's humiliating defeat in the 2024 polls and called for the revision of the selection of leaders from the National, Regional, and Constituency levels. He also called for the party’s electoral college to be expanded to cover all card-bearing members to exercise their franchise.

That, he noted, would enable the party members to elect dedicated leaders, selfless, and committed leaders to steer the affairs of the party.
